Garbage Collection

Due to mandates by the DNR, we as a town in 1999 were forced to go to full-town coverage of household garbage/recycling pickup. The two options for the Town were to operate a recycling drop-off point or to go to contracted garbage pickup.  A town recycling center was not an option for us since the town owns no land and has no employees.  To make it fair, all residents must now pay for garbage/recycling pickup contracted through the Town of Manitowoc.  Our contract is with Waste Management.

Starting in the year 2011 and in the future to simplify our garbage collection the town will no longer be taking advance garbage collections.  All garbage payments will be put on the next year's tax rolls.

Waste Management shall collect garbage and recycling weekly.  Make sure to have your bins placed at the roadside by 6:00 A.M. on Mondays.  For the residents living on the North side garbage will be picked up on Thursdays.
